Haha, I can't tell you how many people sound just like you :) I also can't tell you how many people sound just like me. It's always easy when it's easy, but when things don't go as planned, not so much. But them's computers for ya!

I think Ubuntu is half-way between XP and OSX, frankly. However, it sure seems more like XP when it comes to installing. Lots of hoops to jump through. Too many if you ask me.

I'll certainly blog so more if I try again, but this has been a huge pain in the ass, so I doubt it'll happen any time soon.

I dual boot both Ubuntu and XP on Acer One with no problem. Also can run Puppy Linux from USB stick on same machine with no problem. It can be done, but se computers are more difficult than others. Keep trying and reporting.

Ah--sucks--the Harper's article is pay-only :\ However, it's written by Joseph Stiglitz who's views I'm familiar with already. He's been on Democracy Now a bunch of times and I've agreed with him on most of what he says. So, I'm sure it's a good read. Then again, I think it doesn't take a nobel prize-winning economist to see how things have gone south under the Bush admin. :\

It's at least half the cost to fill up a Hummer under current gas prices. With this, one can constantly refuel. Transforms the user into a douche with only a few sprays.
